Liguria

Liguria is a lovely combination of sea and land. There are old towns where no time exists, fresh chestnut trees, strong flavoured cuisine with great dishes created combining simple local products. In summer Liguria becomes a natural theatre with its shows, festivals and concerts under the stars. In autumn you’ll find all sort of original entertainment for your holiday as well. You’ll find out you can just love this land of strong emotions.

In the Imperia district you’ll discover the most beautiful beach resorts on the Riviera. Its countryside has always inspired painters and poets thanks to its green hills, its “terraces”, its lavender perfume, its farming so close to the town and the intense blue of the sea. This land of sensations is a sort of shelter, a lost place where you can find yourself again, where the olive-trees blowing in the wind and the sea will speak to your heart through a peculiar light and sound.

The mild climate all year round, the beauty of the landscape and the locations we offer and the upcoming summer suggest plenty of outdoor activities. In summer take place many parties, shows, guided visits to monuments, wine and food festivals. Liguria meets everybody’s needs and satisfies even the most demanding clients.

During your stay in Imperia (the town is composed by two parts: Porto Maurizio and Oneglia) we highly reccommend to visit:
- The Parasio hill, the historical heart of Porto Maurizio. Its narrow ways offer an incredible view of the whole bay. Logge di Santa Chiara are built headlong the sea, at the limit of the walls, next to San Leonardo’s house. San Loenardo, Franciscan preacher and patron saint of Imperia nowadays.

- The Duomo di San Maurizio, just outside the historical heart of Porto Maurizio

- The marine villages Prino and Foce where you find beautiful golden beaches (the most important of them is the Spiaggia d’Oro in Borgo Marina) and typical restaurants and clubs open until late in the night.

- The Museo Navale del Ponente Ligure, an important documentation and reaserch centre about ship construction, sailing and navigation.

- Villa Grock and its garden, on the hills of Oneglia. It’s an extravagant villa surrounded by a luxuriant park with a beautiful sea view.

- Il Museo dell’Olivo in Oneglia, an exposition of the collections by the family Carli who founded the oil factory “Fratelli Carli” in 1911.

Don’t miss an evening at the Casino in Sanremo and a trip in the area around Imperia to discover picturesque old towns surrounded by olive-trees (Dolceacqua, Apricale, the rests of Bussana and Valloria are just a few of them)

Don’t forget that in less than one hour by car you can reach The Genoa Aquarium, Portofino, Rapallo driving along the east coast or the famous Côte d’Azur (and so Cannes, Provence, Nice, Montercarlo) along the west coast.
